At any given time, Sarah is likely to have multiple audiobooks in progress, several picture books checked out from the library, and probably an excessive amount of information on a given subject of interest (e.g. bats, campers, woodworking, travel destinations, and the list goes on…).
In Defense of Lars
Let’s address the blowup doll in the room, shall we? Lars and the Real Girl is, without a doubt, a peculiar movie. The main character, Lars (played by Ryan Gosling), is a young, awkward guy with social anxieties and challenges connecting with people. That is, until he decides to get a girlfriend, but not just any girlfriend – a life-sized blow-up doll he names Bianca. It’s audacious, really, to juxtapose mental illness and sex toys. But audacity pays off in this one.
